I thought this was interesting. A Cisco Certified Instructor from St. Petersburg Florida has written a book on Cisco networking. The twist? He’s giving it away for free!

I downloaded and took a quick look at it. It looks like it’s be pretty decent as an introductory book for people just starting out with networking, someone going for a CCNA for example. It covers some hands on stuff that a lot of intro books don’t (like cabling standards).
I do have a few problems with it. For example, the author makes some disparaging remarks about the PIX firewalls. My experiences with the PIX have been very positive.
